FACILITY
Q: Where will the Hudson Golf Studio be located?
A: Our temporary location will be in Twinsburg off of Enterprise Drive. The space is being donated by a Hudson resident including utilities. It is anticipated our stay will last through 2021 and perhaps beyond if necessary. At this time our only cost will be internet service.
Q: What are future facility plans?
A: We are having conversations with other available industrial spaces, Hudson Highs School and local golf courses. We will require a more permanent home and fundraising will play into our final desicion.
FEES/FINANCE
Q: Will there be fees for players to use the facility?
A: Currently there are no plans to charge for facility use. But, we do have concerns. If times are scheduled and unused, we may charge a fee for unused time to encourage players. If we do charge fees in the future they will be nominal at best.
Q: When is the fundraising cut off date?
A: That is not established. Fundraising is moving in multiple waves. Our current December 2020 wave is an effort to raise capital with our local HHS Community. The second wave includes building a database of HHS golf alumni and working with them. That effort is ongoing and a launch date in late January and February is targeted. Wave three is the establishment of an annual alumni golf tournament at the CC of Hudson.
Q: How do you plan to pay for the facility moving forward?
A: Our goal is to be operational in the Twinsburg space at the lowest cost possible allowing us to keep a fundraising balance for a move into a future/partner facility. At this time there are no plans to fundraise to build and maintain a facility. We believe the best path forward is partnering with the Hudson community.
USE
Q: When will players have access to the facility?
A: Immediate plans include having a HHS coach present at all time. We believe this is necessary as a more open access plan is established. We do not have a timeline for unattended (earned) access to the studio. We will publish a schedule as we get closer to launch and players will sign up for time via an app similar to Booksy or others.
Q: How many players can use the facility at once?
A: Generally 1-2 players can use Trackman at any given time if working on skills. Trackman does promote group learning and play so multiple players can play when that is the focus. Short game area can keep 3-4 players active. COVID limitations will restrict short game use until further notice.
Q: Is the facility for HHS current players only?
A: No. Our goal is to grow the game and prepare players in our middle school for high school play. We also want to continue to engage with HHS alumni through the studio. There will be time focus on current HHS boys and girls players.
Q: Can a player bring a coach to the studio for a lesson?
A: Yes. If they are scheduled for a block of time, we encourage that arrangement.
Instruction
Q: Will instruction be offered at the studio?
A: No. No HHS coach is a certified swing professional. Our goal is to reinforce what they have been taught and to reduce the time frame for new skill adoption.
Recognition
Q: How will donors be recognized?
A: At a minimum, a permanent display inclusive of corporate logos will be on display at the temporary facility. That some display will be moved to our future location.
Hudson City Schools Foundation
Q: What relationship is The Hudson Golf Studio requesting from the Hudson City Schools Foundation?
A: We began fundraising in December of 2020 for local donations. Those funds are currently being issued to Hudson City Schools. It is not an ideal arrangement for the reasons mentioned in the document below. Our hope is the partner with the Hudson City Schools Foundation for the online alumni component phrased as wave two, above.
Q: How will funds pass from fundraising to HCSF?
A: The charity software of choice (like GoFundMe) will issue tax deductible receipts to the donors. Funds will be transferred when desired to HCSF to they can be issued to HHS Golf Team’s “earned fund” account.
